To download and restore a full backup of your website from cPanel, follow these steps:
Downloading the Backup:
- Log in to cPanel:
- Go to your hosting provider’s cPanel login page and enter your credentials.
- Access the Backup Section:
- Scroll down to the Files section and click on Backup.
- Download Full Backup:
- Under the Full Backup section, click Download a Full Account Backup.
- Choose the destination for the backup (typically, you’ll select Home Directory).
- Enter your email address (optional) to receive a notification when the backup is complete.
- Click Generate Backup.
- Download the Backup File:
- Once the backup is generated, you’ll be able to download the backup file by clicking on the Backups Available for Download link in the Backup section.
Restoring the Backup:
- Access the Backup Section:
- Log in to cPanel and navigate to the Backup section under Files.
- Restore a Full Backup:
- Under Restore a Home Directory Backup, click Choose File to locate the backup file on your computer.
- Once selected, click Upload to restore the backup to your cPanel account.
- Wait for the Restoration Process:
- The system will restore the website, databases, and email settings based on the backup file you uploaded.
